This is definitely important for the Ab Doer beginner. Though the machine is made it easy and fun for anybody to use, do not ever over do it. Start 2 reps for each exercise and increase more as you go by. I started my exercise only 10 minutes at a time and only once a week. Personally  I think the important part is that we need to consistently work out.

He says it is important to start with the abdominal exercise circuit at the beginner’s phase. You cannot right away jump into doing strenuous workouts because you may end up having unwanted injuries. Set your upper limit and maximize your potential to achieve it. Over time, attempt to increase the number of repetitions you do. For instance, you can optimally increase reps by two each week until you can sustain doing 2 reps for each abs exercise. Keep in mind to alternate the kinds of abs workout routines you perform so as to add the variety needed in strengthening abdominal walls faster and more effectively.

The machine will really work IF you work out. Give it a try and enjoy the video during your workouts. I watch it every day to get through my 15 minute exercise.
